The Chase Charity and the Lankelly Foundation were established through the
generosity of two separate entrepreneurs.
The Chase Charity was founded in 1962 and the Lankelly Foundation six years
later. After many years of working together, in 2005 the two Trusts took the
natural step to amalgamate and become the LankellyChase Foundation a grant
giving-charity.
In 2007/8 the level of grants authorised by the Trustees grew to £6,434,200
in areas as diverse as Arts/Dance, Domestic Abuse and Family Support,
Community Development, Mental Health, Heritage, Refugees and Asylum

registered charities. It was established in 1958 by Willard Garfield Weston,
a Canadian businessman who arrived in the UK with his family in 1932.
He was the creator of Associated British Foods and the Foundation was
endowed with the donation of family-owned company shares. As a result,
the Foundation is today the ultimate controller of the company.

UK charities including Arts, Community, Education, Health and Environmental
programmes.

cohesive without support.
Since its formation, CRT has awarded grants worth approximately £150 million.
through its grant-making programmes. CRT has offices in all of the UK coalfield
areas. Each office has at least one programme manager and one programme

and guidance to organisations seeking help

The Simon Community
The Simon Community
The Simon Community was founded by Anton Wallich-Clifford in 1963 and is a
registered charity. Anton's vision for Simon was to reach out to the homeless
and rootless, to be a movement of concern and, by working as a community, to
offer a radical alternative to institutional care.
Working with London's homeless, Simon's aim has always been to provide help
for people who are not provided for by other services.

Green Pastures

accommodation to the homeless. Founded in 1999, it has housed more than 800
people. Properties are located in Southport, Wigan, North Wales, Salford,
Blackburn, Wakefield, Flintshire, Stoke-on-Trent, Brighton and London. They
comprise houses, flats, and bedsits. Tenants are allowed to remain in
perpetuity. It is their home for as long as they wish. It is run by a small team of
Christians, and with a strong Christian ethic.

St Georges Crypt
St George's Crypt
St George's Crypt has provided continuous care and support for thousands
for over 78 years. The Night Shelter for the homeless was established at
St George's Church, Leeds, by the Rev. Percy Donald Robins during the
Depression of the 1930's. The Night Shelter became an Air Raid Shelter
during WWII, and St George's Crypt was finally registered as a charity
in 1967. The work of St George's Crypt has changed and diversified over
the years, especially since the major conversion of the Crypt was completed
in 1999. Today, the emphasis continues to be on the Night Centre, however
initiatives working with asylum seekers and refugees have also been established
